The WWW is a tool to enhance instruction. You can employ many of the same teaching methods and activities as before just on a different medium and using resources from around the world.

FL Web Activities: a site where FL classes will find links to authentic documents on the web and a series of questions to go with it. Developed by teachers during the 1996 FL project seminar in Santa Barbara, CA.

Ball Center for the Advancement of Language Learning: language learning resources and links for teachers and learners. Includes references to multimedia language programs, instructional materials, multilingual browsing information, and goals in foreign language education.

Interactive JavaScript Quizzes for ESL Students: all kinds of self correcting practice quizzes for grammar, vocabulary, and punctuation.

Interclass Projects on the Internet: here you will find an explanation of interclass projects as well as links to description of already developed projects.

Intercultural E-Mail Classroom Connections: Looking for E-pals for your students? Here's the place to begin. This free service helps teachers and classes link with partners in other countries and cultures for e-mail classroom pen-pal and project exchanges.

International E-Mail Tandem Network: Another place to look for E-pals. This location specializes in language learning by computer mediated communication. There are no project connections for you here as in the previous site but it works like a listserve to match interested partners.

Teaching with Video/France-TV: For those of you who either teach French or would like some ideas for teaching with video, the following site will prove to be a wealth of useful information and ideas.

Ohio Program of Intensive English links to resources, software, jobs for teachers, teaching and technology, as well as language specific resources.

Ball Teaching with the Web some ideas for implementation of the web in your language course as well as links to other sites of interest and use to language instructors.

Ball Internet Based Collaborative Language Learning these ideas for collaboartive work developed by language instructors at the NFLRC symposium can be easily implemented in any language class at a variety of levels.

New Tools for Teaching : links include documents on the effectiveness and possibilities for incorporating the internet into your instruction; how it works, what it costs, time involved, etc.

Language Interactive: web forms and CGI Scripts for Language Learning. A useful guide to writing your own computerized language learning exercises. Includes some downloadable scripts for those who would prefer to not write their own.

PedagoNet: includes a database of materials for learning and an online request for the materials you need.

BBC Education Language Learning : offers television and radio based instructional materials for languages. Materials available for all ages in many languages.

Language Learning & Technology: a fully-refereed journal for second and foreign langauge educators. The focus is on language learning and language teaching, and how they are affected or enhanced by the use of technologies.

Blue Web'n: learning applications library. This comprehensive and well organized site is for educators, parents and students alike. Includes a search feature or a clickable table for lessons, projects, resources and much more in all disciplines!

Russnet Online Language Learning Resources offers a variety of Russian materials.

The Center for Applied Japanese Language Study has various Japanese-related materials, including assessment benchmarks.

CALL Products

Computer Assisted Language Learning links provide product literature, software and demos to download, and ordering information for a variety of CALL products.

Ball University of California at Irvine: in addition to the usual resource center information, this page offers a link to their media catalog, computing help desk, language resources, and much more.

Ball Carnegie Mellon Language Learning Center: info on the center and links to language resources based on the languages offered at CMU.

Ball The Central Piedmont Community College language lab site has a collection of language-related links, lab information, and more.

Language organizations support the teaching and learning of languages at all levels within a specified region of the world.
